Numerous stories of resilience and redemption unfold on the grandest tracks across the globe. Natosha Rogers, one of the renowned track and field stars, stands at the precipice of rewriting her narrative. Her journey of achieving an Olympic spot started way back in 2012, when she was a junior at Texas A&M.

When she participated in the NCAA track and field events, she managed to capture hearts with her stunning 10,000m race that led her to the 2012 US Olympics Trails. However, she failed to achieve a first-place finish at the event, followed by a major upset as a coveted Olympic spot eluded her. But, now she is again preparing to participate in the upcoming Olympic qualifiers.

Natosha facing track and field challenges head-on

The Olympic Qualifiers of 2012 saw Natosha falling in the middle of the race. But her grit instantly caught everyone’s attention. In a display of the same, Natosha did not lose hope. After nearly a decade of missing out, she is keeping all eyes on the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. Recently, Citius Mag sat down with Natosha Rogers’ to discuss her views about her Marathon debut at the US Olympics Marathon Trials. According to Natosha, it is “Going To Be A Chess Game.”

Explaining her views in the interview, Natosha said, “I’ve had help from some of the guys on the team for long runs and stuff here in North Carolina. But it has not all been smooth. I had a really hard adjustment to the distance, but like I will say, it’s really coming around. My odds are a lot lower than the favourites in the field, but the race can play out a number of ways… so it’s going to be a chess game out there!” The US Olympic Trials are scheduled to take place after a few days. However, this year is quite different as Natosha is armed with a personal best of 1:09:36 in the half marathon. As Natosha made her 2024 debut, she was even hungrier than ever before.

Will Natosha be able to make it to the top?

In the interview, Natosha was asked about her workout routine for the upcoming big battle. Her reply screamed confidence as she said, “Well, it’s hard with social media because you have your Keira D’Amatos and Sarah Halls posting their workouts and like… they’re insane. So, no – and this goes for track too – if you looked at my workouts in practice you’d say ‘she won’t make the team.’ But I do have a lot of confidence in my ability.” If this is not enough, her next statement reiterates it.

She further added, “My heart is really invested and I have tried hard to surrender and commit to this. And so like, that’s all I can really lean on and just do the best I can.” As the Olympic trials are only a few days to go, spectators have levied a heavy weight of expectations on Natosha’s shoulders. Will Natosha be able to take redemption this Olympic year?
