Arkansas Razorbacks’ Roje Stona has several accolades to his name, inspiring the track and field world with his splendid performance. Recently, he shone brightly at the NCAA 2024 Indoor Track & Field Championships, notching the silver medal in this event. Just a few days later, displaying his spectacular sprinting skills, track and field discus thrower Roje Stona unveiled his absorption for football as he sets sights on the NFL trail.

The Arkansas Razorbacks football program held its Pro Day at Walker Pavilion on March 13, and all 32 NFL teams attended the events. Track and Field NCAA star Stona took part in the football event, taking all the spotlight and drawing plenty of eyes for his extraordinary performance.

Track star Roje Stona makes remarkable transition to NFL

Taking to its official X handle, NCAA Track & Field shared an update about the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Silver medalist, Roje Stona’s astonishing transition from track and field to the NFL. The post caption reads “Roje Stona (@tallerdandem) of @RazorbackTF participated in the Arkansas pro day ahead of the NFL Draft, only days after winning the silver in the shot put at indoor championships 🔥 #NCAATF”

The recent post video also features Roje Stona’s remarkable feat in the track and field arena. Apart from mentioning his latest track and field win, it gives details of his NFL tryout. Roje Stona is one of the top athletes in the NCAA track and field, finishing with a silver medal at this year’s Indoor Championships, He is now attempting to try out for the NFL, participating in Arkansas’s Pro Day.” Besides that, the video mentions, “Stona is standing at 6’6″, and 270 pounds, but he’s never played football before at Arkansas’s Pro Day. He ran a 40-yard dash in less than 4.7 seconds, and he also participated in every drill.”

Because of his size alone and his on-field performance during the Pro Day, Stona grabbed the attention of spectators from all around the country at the NFL event. However, his fans will be waiting to see him make the successful transition from one of the top athletes in track and field to the NFL.

Roje Stona makes waves in track and field

A discus thrower on the Razorbacks’ track team, Roje Stona clinched silver in the shot put at the Indoor Championships held from March 7th to March 9th. He posted a personal-best throw of 67-2 ¼ at the New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts.

Stona, who hails from Jamaica, has focused mostly on throwing disciplines. It has helped him jump to third spot on the all-time list in UA discus history at a personal best score of 68.64 meters. However, he later took to find his passion in track and field transferring to the University of Arkansas to pursue his Olympic aspirations. He became the first Razorback to secure an SEC title in the discus, as he set sights on making new records. And now he focuses on the NFL.

Stona underwent rigorous drills under the guidance of Coach Chris Bucknam exploring the positions of defensive end or tight end, even though he has never played football before. Indeed his athletic pursuits know no bounds.
