Moon was poised as a contender for the Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais 2024, which took place on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Liévin, France. However, moments before the showdown, the Twitter post revealed, “Katie Moon 🇺🇸 has withdrawn from the women’s pole vault in Liévin.” This news came as a surprise, especially considering Moon’s recent stellar performance at the Ashland-Jud Logan Light Giver Open.

At the Ashland-Jud Logan Light Giver Open Katie Moon returned to her alma mater to compete in the meet. This was a special event for her because it allowed her to compete in front of her family and friends, who came to support her. She impressed her fans and family by winning with a jump of 4.70 meters.

Moon’s exciting season start spurs anticipation for more high-flying action

Although Moon didn’t clear a higher height of 4.85 meters, which would have been the best in the world, she was still happy with her performance. She shared, “Obviously, I wanted to clear that world lead but it’s early and I figured I’d just passive-aggressively give it some good shots, but I’m really excited with how the season could go.”
