Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has been impressing track fans for more than 15 years now. During this time, she has collected 8 Olympic medals and 16 world championship medals with her epic performances. More recently, the 36-year-old raced against USA’s Sha’Carri Richardson and her Jamaican teammate Shericka Jackson. Despite not having raced a lot this year, Fraser-Pryce still managed to walk away with a bronze medal, amidst some strong competition from Richardson and Jackson.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce also ended up getting injured during the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest. Despite that, she still managed to help her Jamaican team secure a silver medal in the 4x100m women’s relay. Soon after, she was taken to a hospital for treatment, and reports suggest that she will be up and running again soon. As she recovers from her injury Fraser-Pryce sets her eyes on Paris and also uploaded a social media post regarding her journey so far in the quest for another Olympic triumph. However, the introduction of her post’s caption turned cryptic for her fans and ended up scaring them to their core.

As Fraser-Pryce recovers from her injury, she aims for another set of medals at the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics. She also uploaded a post on Instagram recently, accompanied by a heartfelt caption that reflects on her track journey. A part of her caption read, “As I contemplate lacing up my spikes again, I am moved by the warmth received by each and every one of you, and plan to continue honing my craft and representing my country. Looking back 14 years from my first appearance at the World Athletics Championships and 16 medals later, it feels truly prolific.”

She further thanked all the medical staff who wasted no time in attending to her injury and who continuously helped her recover. The Jamaican track star also thanked her homeland and indicated that her country is the real backbone that continues to motivate her on this track and field journey.
Fraser-Pryce also emphasized that, in case of an injury, she never stops, rather, she waits and utilizes that time to work even harder for her future goals. She ended her caption with, “So, get ready Paris, here we come……” However, what was supposed to be a heartfelt message for her fans, almost shocked them as they were left scared with the first few lines of her caption. Her fans were quick to take to the post’s comment section and informed the Jamaican of their scary moment.

I THOUGHT IT WAS A RETIREMENT POST.”

Another fan went through the same emotion and wrote, “All I saw at first was “…contemplating lacing up my spikes…” and I almost passed out. Can’t wait to see you in Paris! God’s speed.” Even one of her Jamaican track teammates thought the same and commented, “The first line had me scared. Nuh do it man. See you at practice in a few.”

Another fan almost had their heart in their mouth and commented, “When I saw hung my laces up my heart skipped a beat thinking you retired Shelly. Why you want to give me a heart attack at my young age.” One user wished her success for next year and wrote, “Finish off Paris in style”. As Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce laces up her spikes, her fans eagerly await her arrival in Paris and hope that the Jamaican ends up dominating the track once again.
