As per a previous announcement, four-time Olympic champion Michael Johnson is ready to launch his $30 million prized track and field contest next year. Noah Lyles might likely participate in the same league. The six-time world champion has himself displayed an interest in extending the chance. In his interview with the Times, Noah Lyles couldn’t hide his joy when he confessed about the meetings with Michael Johnson on the matter.

Shedding light on the current situation, Noah said, “At least my agent has had those conversations. We haven’t spoken face to face, but I am privy to what he [Michael Jordan] is thinking. It’s exciting.” Meanwhile, if things go according to plan, the proposed league could come out as one of its kind. In giving an initial view, Michael Johnson has already drawn the attention of some of the big names in the marketing world to make the league a wholesome showdown.

As per the latest news, the media agency, Two Circles, has joined the camp to figure out exciting strategies to attract new and existing audiences to the track and field sport. Apart from Two Circles, Doubleday & Cartwright, and SRK Strategies have doubled the effort to make the league unparalleled. To be noted is the fact that these two agencies have a glorious client list including the MLB, NBA, and MLS. Doubleday & Cartwright holds a special tag to work with brands like Red Bull, Nike, and Apple.

Showcasing his happiness regarding this, the 56-year-old legend had said, “The addition of Doubleday & Cartwright, Two Circles, and SRK Strategies will allow our league to expand its media and creative outreach.” Furthermore, Kyle Merber’s inclusion in the Director of Athletes and Racing post might help in fulfilling the rationale of the league. At the same time, Michael Johnson may look up to Noah Lyles for a few more reasons.

Noah Lyles might earn the much-touted ‘personality’ tag

Both Noah Lyles and Michael Johnson have voiced for bringing personalities into the track and field for making it a wholesome affair. As per Johnson, Noah can be that personality. In several of his posts on X, the veteran has garlanded the treble winner with the tag.

One such post came into public in April, conceding, “Reporter just said “track & field lacks personalities like Bolt, Carl, and you.” My personality wasn’t nearly as exciting as Noah, Sha’Carri, Shelley-Ann, Karston, or Jakob. There isn’t a lack of personalities. Problem is the sport is no longer a platform for great personalities”. Therefore, the proposed league could be a chance to establish the ‘platform’ where Noah Lyles might have a chance to be as memorable as ever.

Michael Johnson remains as elated as ever. Giving a view of his excitement, he has said, “This is a hugely exciting expansion of our operation as we continue to gain momentum towards our launch and beyond.” Now, he will be looking forward to Noah Lyles taking the final call.
