Global sports media company FloSports, which operates FloTrack, a prominent track and field platform, secured exclusive broadcasting rights for the Diamond League recently. This action has sparked widespread outrage among track enthusiasts worldwide, igniting debates over accessibility, inclusivity, and the future of the sport’s viewership.

Starting in 2025, Flotrack will be the official broadcast partner of Diamond League. Many contend that limiting coverage to a single provider could alienate a significant portion of the fan base, particularly those who rely on free-to-air or widely accessible channels to follow their favorite events.

FloSports, which has signed a multi-year media rights agreement with the Wanda Diamond League, gives access to many of the world’s top Track and Field events. The Crown Jewel of the agreement is the Diamond League, which hosts 15 of the best athletics meetings in the world, with the men and women competing in 16 of the sports’s primary disciplines.

Petr Stastny, CEO of Wanda Diamond League, said, “This partnership represents our shared commitment to elevating the profile of track and field, providing fans with unparalleled access to our premier series of events. As we continue to celebrate athletic excellence on the global stage, we look forward to inspiring new generations of athletes and fans through this dynamic collaboration.”

This major announcement was made by CITIUS MAG on his X handle stating, “The Diamond League, which is currently televised on NBC’s networks and streamed on Peacock ($5.99/month or $59.99/year), will move to Flotrack ($29.99/month or $149.99/year) starting in 2025. The Prefontaine Classic is not included in the package.”

With its recent acquisitions of TFRRS and MileSplit, FloSports emerges as the ultimate destination for comprehensive track and field coverage, offering fans unparalleled access to NCAA rankings, statistics, and high school competitions nationwide. Fans erupted in response to this announcement, expressing concern over FloSports’ consolidation of track and field coverage.
