Eight-time Olympic medalist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is one of the most prominent Jamaican track and field athletes. Her performance in the sport never failed to capture her fan’s attention. Besides that, she is also considered one of the most enduring sprinters currently. The star athlete bagged two Olympic gold medals and five World Championship titles in 100 meters. Moreover, she also won a silver medal at the Olympics and a gold medal at the World Championship in the 200 meters.

The legend recently reached another big milestone in her sports career. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is now the only woman to run below 10.70 seven times, and that too in the same season.

The athlete turned towards sprinting from a very young age. Like every other elite Olympian, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had to follow a packed-up schedule and work harder than half of the population. The Jamaican has an enormous fan base and is an inspirational figure for many.

Nicknamed ‘Pocket Rocket’, the athlete once again filled hearts with love and respect for her. She made a new world record of finishing within 10.70 seven times in a single season. As soon as the news of her victory spread, supporters flooded the entire social media with wishes and messages dedicated to Shelly. A fan even called her, “The Queen of Speed“.

Another showcased her confidence in the athlete and wrote, “Of course she did 😘💎🇯🇲”.

World Athletics and Athletics Weekly also posted about Shelly’s big achievement on Instagram.

One wrote, “Prior to 2021 sub 10.70 was run a combined total of 6 times. SAFP ran sub 10.70 7 times in 2022, mind blowing!

Shelly-Ann’s life as a sports person took a jump after the 2008 Beijing Olympics. That is when she became the first Caribbean woman to be termed an Olympic champion.

Nonetheless, she didn’t stop there. Fraser-Pryce never backed off from working hard and putting in the required effort. Finally, all the back-breaking training paid off when she reached the finish line clocking at 10.65. It was her fifth Diamond Trophy as well. 

And the list doesn’t end here. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is also a dominator at the World Athletics Championships. Displaying her talent and skills, she brought home numerous medals. Given that, she is renowned as one of the most decorated athletes in sports history.
