In her final year at the University of Texas and now competing professionally for Nike, the 21-year-old Rhasidat Adeleke has been showcasing remarkable form this year, setting new Irish records both indoors over 60m and 200m. Despite her stellar performance, Adeleke decided to forgo the World Indoor Championships following a disappointing outing at the Millrose Games in New York in February, where a minor ankle issue hindered her performance after rolling it before a previous race.

Looking ahead, Adeleke is poised for her next appearance in an Irish vest scheduled for early May in the Bahamas, where she is expected to play a crucial role in the women’s 4x400m relay team’s bid for Olympic qualification.
