The Texas Relays is one of the most prestigious and iconic track and field events in the United States. It has seen numerous records broken and legendary performances by athletes from diverse backgrounds. Recently, the records were shared by Owen M through a post on X captioning, “4x200m WR☑️ 4x400m win ☑️ An excellent day’s work for Dina Asher-Smith, Rhasidat Adeleke, Lanae-Tava Thomas & Julien Alfred! 👏”. The team consisted of athletes from different countries, including Dina Asher-Smith, who is a British.

Together they broke the previous record set up by the team in their own country, which was 1:27.46 by the US team at the 2000 Penn Relays. While that record was over two decades old, the team had come close to beating it in 2023 with a time of 1.28.05, which got them second place. Despite being the same, Dina Asher-Smith’s replacement of Kevona Davis stands as the sole change.
