For Gabby Thomas, the French capital turned out to be more than just the City of Love. Hauling three gold medals at the Paris Olympics, the Harvard grad firmly established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of track and field. And now, as she awaits her return to the tracks, it looks like Thomas is soaking up some tennis atmosphere before getting on her running shoes.

Just days ago, Thomas was spotted cheering for Frances Tiafoe at a public place. Naturally, with the entire country following the 2024 US Open ardently, she couldn’t resist staying away from the final Grand Slam of the year for too long. In her recent series of Instagram stories, the 27-year-old sprinter shared snippets of herself along with many others at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

Thomas was seen beaming at the camera standing beside fellow track stars like Noah Lyles and Rai Benjamin. Captioned “Love an athlete moment,” the IG story also shows the elite Olympic sprinters being accompanied by USWNT celebrity Midge Purce. The women’s 200m Olympic gold medalist and the soccer star were also seen sharing an especially candid moment amongst themselves. However, despite her solemn support, the USA failed to make it count on home soil.

Bulgarian powerhouse Aryna Sabalenka triumphed over American Jessica Pegula 7-5, 7-5 to win her third career Grand Slam. However, all might not be lost with Taylor Fritz carrying the hope of the nation on his shoulders as he looks to face Italy’s Jannik Sinner in the men’s final tomorrow. While we wait for a thrilling match in NYC, we can’t help but gush over just how dapper Thomas looked at the women’s final match today.

Draped in Tommy Hilfiger attire, Thomas was all oomph at the synthetic court. From a classic color combination to the perfect handbag accessory, Gabby ticked all the right boxes. The US Open can turn out to be the perfect break for the track athlete as well, as she waits to embark on the upcoming season and this time with a special treat for the fans.

For track fans across the country, 2024 wasn’t just about the Olympics. Earlier this year, Reddit co-founder and tennis icon Serna Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian unveiled his ambitious new project: the Athlos NYC. A women’s-only track event, that will gather some of the most emphatic sprinters and athletes from around the world in an attempt to bring more exposure to the female stars of the sport. On top of that, Ohanian also revealed his grand plans to put Thomas at the helm of his operations, noting his confidence in knowing that the neurobiology graduate can pull off a juggernaut-esque venture like this. A venture capitalist Ohanian also claimed that the tournament will look to increase the industry standard in terms of payment received by track and field stars.
