The 2x Olympian mentioned how she read about the split personality being a bad thing in the Bible. As per James 1:8, the inconsistency between one’s thoughts and behavior did not honor the Almighty at all. Doubtful about the course her life was taking, the US sprint sensation had her mind clouded with doubts. Thankfully, McLaughlin-Levrone found someone willing to help her. Her NFL husband, Andre Levrone, invited her to several Bible study sessions. Hearing from several counselors, the Olympic champion was finally able to get clarity.
Immensely thankful for Andre’s much-needed help, McLaughlin-Levrone acknowledged the deed in her book. She happily recalled, “Andre and I spent hours talking through my internal dilemma. Through those conversations, I began to realize that I didn’t have to live with my version of a split personality: a kind, soft-spoken, humble-minded person off the track and a killer competitor on it. Both were consistent with the Christian life.” In the initial phases of 2021, McLaughlin-Levrone learned how she would live her life to showcase “God’s power, wisdom, kindness, love, and forgiveness.”
The track and field queen further detailed that off the field, she would serve God by serving the ones in need. While on the field, she would glorify how God blessed her with energy enough to emerge as a champion. However, all this would not have happened if the track and field champion had not let go of her stubborn skepticism in the first place.

And going on her first date with too many doubts, the Olympian messed it up. The duo had a fantastic first date, hugged each other, and walked back to the parking. However, just when Andre, like a true gentleman, tried to open the door of the car for his lady, McLaughlin-Levrone panicked. “After our conversation, Andre walked me back to my car. When we arrived, we hugged goodbye. As I went to open my door, he stepped in to open it for me. Stubbornly insisting on doing it myself, I told him I was ‘fine.’ I then proceeded to get in my car, say goodbye, and drive off.”
Soon after, she felt a rush of embarrassment within her but thankfully, Andre Levrone embraced the champion with open arms. Thus, in finding a Mr. Perfect in life, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone would surely look to make sweeter memories in the future.
