Previously, the late Olympic legend Florence Griffith Joyner had flaunted several style statements through her appearances on the track. Her nails had accentuated her entire persona. The fastest woman ever recorded justified her avatar in her natural style. She claimed, “I don’t know, I’ve just always been attracted to having long nails, and I wanted to decorate them”. Now, after Sha’Carri Richardson or Noah Lyles from the track and field background, it seems that Lani Pallister has followed suit, much akin to a fish to water.

Nail arts among Olympics swimmers
The 1988 Seoul Olympics had witnessed Flo-Jo appearing with nails colored in gold, blue, red, and white. Coincidentally, those colors paired well with her accomplishments in that Olympics. That might have been the set point of the custom. In a special addition, Camille Cheng, the 30-year-old swimmer, also flaunted her nails in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In an interview with CNN, the Hong Kong-born swimmer justified, “I feel that getting my nails done adds a bit of my personality.” That almost resonated with the statement made by Flo-Jo in her justification.

Katie Ledecky didn’t miss the occasion of the Rio Olympics to show her musings via her nails. The 7-time Olympic champion flaunted her national color in her manicure in the swimming arena that year. The same went with swimmer Missy Franklin, who also put on her national colors manicure in the appearances she made in the Rio Olympics. This vivid trend is here to stay.
