Gabby Thomas is making the most of her break from athletics! After returning from the Paris Olympics with her heart full and her neck adorned with three gold medals, she may have paused her sprinting endeavors for now. However, in the meantime, the Harvard alumna is enjoying good company. As she hops between venues—from tennis stadiums to fine dining establishments—Thomas is socializing with her sprinting contemporaries.

Hours after the reigning 200m Olympic champion disclosed her presence at the Arthur Ashe Stadium for the 2024 US Open with Noah Lyles, Rai Benjamin, and others, Thomas has now updated her followers about another reunion. While she labeled the former as an ‘athlete moment,’ the newest update exudes ‘catching up for a casual dinner’ feels.

Adding to her Instagram stories, Gabby Thomas has recently disclosed being out for dinner at the restaurant Nobu, with fellow sprint phenoms Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield. Posting a boomerang of the couple smiling ear to ear, Thomas captioned it ‘Lovebirds’ on her story and tagged them both. Lyles, who was seen with Gabby earlier in the day at the US Open, joined her for dinner later, this time accompanied by his girlfriend.

Donning a black jacket adorned with shimmery stars, Lyles posed for a snapshot with Junelle, who wore an orange outfit. In Thomas’s next story, which she reposted with Junelle, the other end of the table is featured. Channeling her flair for fashion, the 4x Olympic medalist is seen wearing black with gold accessories and flaunting her curly locks as she posed for a boomerang with a glass in her hand.

Gabby Thomas and Noah, though compete for the same side, haven’t been recorded as the best of friends who hang out frequently. Although, they were seen catching up at the recently attended final match between Jessica Pegula and Aryna Sabalenka. Also, a few days back, while Mondo Duplantis won the 100m showdown against Warholm and added a video justifying his timing, Gabby reposted it. In her message, she seemed to make a reference that was possibly linked to Lyles too.

She wrote, “I’m begging track and field to stop focusing so hard on times. Like we’re debating over fractions of seconds??🤔” This perhaps was a reference to the backlash that Lyles got for the 100m Paris finale, as he was five thousandth of a second faster than Kishane Thompson. But when it comes to Lyles’ girlfriend, Bromfield, Gabby Thomas has openly voiced her support for the Jamaican athlete in the past.

Thomas had supported Junelle Bromfield amidst heavy backlash

Before and during the Paris Olympics, Junelle was subjected to excessive criticism from the track and field community. And as she failed to medal at Stade de France, the intensity of the backlash amplified beyond expectation. After being patient for a long time, Junelle finally added an Instagram post on September 23, one that called out her haters.

The Jamaican wrote, “I have been getting cyber-bullied for weeks,” calling out the fans who had been relentlessly commenting on her skin color, her athleticism, and her relationship with Noah. She was shocked at the shade that came from her own nation, “I honestly thought we were past colorism in Jamaica especially as nation that is filled with black people.”

But, her message garnered significant appreciation from the community. Many popular track and field stars, including Olympic gold medalist long jumper, Tara Davis-Woodhall threw their support behind her. And one of them was Gabby Thomas too.

Underneath Bromfield’s post, Thomas reassured her, “Thank you for using your platform to share this- WE know you are one of the most beautiful ladies on the track, but what’s even more important is how much you shine as a person and how you light up a room.
