On Friday, Richardson made headlines when she ran the fastest time in the world in the first round of the 100m. At the USATF event, she completed the race in 10.71 seconds.

On Friday, lightning struck Hayward Field when she ran like thunder and clinched the win in 100m at Eugene, Oregon. She clocked an impressive time of 10.82 seconds in 100m, which helped her clinch the win over Brittany Brown and Tamari Davis in the women’s category. After she cliched the win, she took a victory lap, and with a smile on her face, she hugged her family. With this win, she has fixed her spot for the World Championships.

Earlier this year, she also clocked the 4th fastest time in 100-meter women’s history when she clocked a time of 10.57 seconds at the Miramar Invitational meet in April and 10.76 seconds at the Doha Diamond League. Since then, she has never looked back and is constantly completing 100-meter sprints in under 11 seconds.
