On the date of the event, both the Instagram and X handles of Dallas ISD were there to break the pictures of the events. However, it was an Instagram post that caught everyone’s attention. It kept the temperature high as it posted an image of SCR from her initial days. The image featured a young SCR standing with a medal dangling around her neck, probably after winning an event. The image seemed to be giving a glimpse of the coming days. Alongside, it proudly announced, “TODAY! Follow along as we honor the world’s fastest woman and Dallas ISD alum, Sha’Carri Richardson, by naming the track at Kincaide Stadium to the Sha’Carri Richardson Track!”

The due process of naming the tracks after SCR started in the initial part of this year. However, the confirmation of the decision came late with a unanimous voting process. No one could think of a better name than the three-time world champion to be fitting for the stadium standing in Jesse Owens Athletics Complex. Sha?Carri herself took to Instagram to share her joy. Her heartfelt post with the invitation day announcement is bound to go into history.?

That seemed to be enough to take Sha?Carri on an emotional outing. On the day, her voice became more of an acknowledgment rather than being hyperbole, ?It?s not gonna stop, it?s gonna get better and better?. And it is not unnatural, given SCR’s attachment to Dallas. After all, it’s her “home”!
