They imagined the buzz at school as Wilson, fresh off his Olympic gold medal win, heads back to class in just a week. “I don’t think people realize, bro. You said he gonna go back and get that gold medal for the young man, that boy is 16. He gonna start school in a week, he going to school as a gold medalist. If they ask him ‘Write what your summer is like’, this boy essay gonna be crazy,” Rodney Green predicted.

He pictured Quincy Wilson strolling through the hallways, his gold medal gleaming, casually dropping lines, about his summer at the Olympics.

Green played out the scene: “What did you do for the summer? [Imitating Quincy Wilson] I ran in the Olympics. The junior Olympics? No, the real Olympics.”

Further, Justin Gatlin added a fun twist, imagining Quincy Wilson returning to school with his shiny Paris Olympics medal.
