With less than a month to go before the Paris Olympics showdown, athletes are now coming to the forefront, unraveling their true potential. Every nation wants to put its best foot forward, aiming for international glory. But, capturing all attention, the sprint stars of the USA are competing amongst themselves to get to the throne. And Kenny Bednarek has come down to threaten his rivals after Noah Lyles snatches the world lead record from him at the US Olympics Trials.

With a silver medal secured in the 200-meter sprint in the Tokyo Olympics, Kenny Bednarek isn’t just a contender but a force to be reckoned with. In the final 200-meter dash at Hayward Field, Lyles emerged as the winner, clocking an impeccable time of 19.53 seconds. He has been closely followed by Kenny grabbing the second position in 19.59 seconds. But from Kenny’s recent declaration, it seems that he is not yet ready to give up so soon to his teammate.

Kenny Bednarek termed himself to be the “dangerous player”. While asked about what the word “dangerous” actually signifies, Bednarek had his answer ready. Oozing confidence, Kenny said, It means that they should all fear me… I’m on their case right there, and I showed the world that I got a lot in me and I got a lot more in the tank.” Bednarek’s words reflect his burning desire to prove himself on the global stage. Meanwhile, setting aside personal rivalries, all three qualified sprinters are itching to wave the USA flag high in Paris.

Noah Lyles and Kenny Bednarek eyes Olympic domination

It was a happy outing for Kenny Bednarek, Noah Lyles, and Erriyon Knighton. Having qualified for Paris, the trio will now look to establish US dominance in France. However, standing in their path to glory is Team Jamaica. Raking up impressive performances, the Jamaican athletes are ready to spoil the party for the US. But Bednarek and co. remains unfazed. Reflecting on the competition, a confident Noah Lyles stated, “USA is USA.. we ain’t taking anything light.. we don’t give anything… you gotta take from us.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Kenny Bednarek also seemed charged up to represent his country for the second time. Speaking about the race, Bednarek stated that he was in the race momentarily, but Lyles edged him out quite skilfully. Taking a friendly jab at Lyles, Bednarek promised to beat him once they lock horns in Paris. Thus, with the battle lines drawn, the track is all set to be lit on fire by some of the finest athletes come Paris.
