LSU has always been at the forefront of supporting and celebrating its athletes’ accomplishments, and they certainly did not disappoint Duplantis with their surprise. After the pole vaulting sensation reset the world record at Eugene with a 6.23-meter jump, commendations flowed in from all corners of the world. But LSU took it a step further and erected billboards all around Louisiana to honor Duplantis. Popular blogger Track Spice shared a picture of the billboard on X featuring a larger-than-life image of the 23-year-old athlete squatting while holding the Diamond League Finals trophy. The picture accompanied a post that said, “Billboards of Mondo Duplantis all across Louisiana”.

Armand “Mondo” Duplantis now occupies all seven top positions on the global leaderboard. He had created a new record in February 2023 while competing in the World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting. Everyone thought that this would stay as an unbeatable record for years to come. But the track and field ace had other plans and created a new benchmark for the future. Given his proclivity for breaking his own records, this one will not stay unbroken for long. Duplantis is gearing up for the 2024 Paris Olympics and is just about ready to deliver another stunning performance of his career. Will his next record-breaking feat come in the French capital?
