Her charm, magnetism, and athletic force brought a concert to a standstill! That’s Sha’Carri Richardson for you! The world knew she was ready, and she wanted that Olympic title. And so were they, to watch her move from strength to strength. Thus, the arena, echoing with English singer Adele’s hits, came to a halt as they tuned in for the women’s 100m finals to see who reigned supreme on the purple tracks.
Yes, you read that right. Adele’s 10-show residency in Munich recently turned host to one of her smashing concerts. The custom-built space can contain a crowd of 75,000 attendees, according to Billboard. And they were only so happy to witness the finals straight from Stade de France displayed on the big screen. Was it a crowd request?
Well, Adele herself seems like a sprinting buff. “Yeah I’ll sing Hello in a minute. Let me watch the race first,” she announced. The cost? According to Rolling Stone, the tickets are priced at $455. So collectively, Adele put $34 million at stake just to witness Sha’Carri’s Olympic moment.

Slated as a ‘one-off pop-up stadium’ it is set to feature one show each of the coming 10 nights. However, today, it looked like a packed stadium for a bit as Adele’s ‘Set Fire to the Rain‘ version featured the fiery rain-soaked sprint from Paris on the 220 x 30 metre screen. Wide and luxurious in all its glory, the screen costs a whopping 34M pounds and can mute out noises from a motorway close by. Exquisite, right? Well, the entire venue is a cut above the ordinary.

Sha’Carri Richardson’s Olympic debut has a jazzy feature
As per The Guardian, designed by Florian Wieder, the set designer who mastered the setup for America’s Got Talent, the venue is a grand masterpiece. A 93-metre catwalk space and a 200-metre semicircle that forms the shape of a half-moon, make the artist feel closer to the crowd. Plus, it is crafted to withstand heavy rain and is thus paved with asphalt.
However, despite the grandeur, the show has had a few mishaps. The August 1 performance was called off for safety concerns. Plus, the extreme weather and storms would further hinder an uninterrupted show. Subsequently, on the opening night, Adele suffered a wardrobe malfunction in her rain-drenched dress. Apparently, her dress featured a long train, which later had to be detached.

But wait, the series of mishaps were far from over. Adele’s concert was also hit by a security breach. An unauthorized fan slipped in and recorded a glimpse of the stadium that was meant to be exclusive to the audience’s eyes. The clips were then circulated on Instagram.
Nonetheless, today, none of these issues could ‘dampen’ the enthusiasm as the spectators tuned into the finals. Although Sha’Carri Richardson won the silver, this is a mighty testament to her mass appeal. What do you think of this one-of-a-kind race preview? Let us know below.
