Noah Lyles is back for 'Sprint'—but where's Sha'Carri Richardson? What's your take on this snub?

Sha’Carri Richardson will probably not be featured in the second season of SPRINT. After the impeccable success of the inaugural season on Netflix, Box to Box Productions announced the release of ‘SPRINT’ season 2. Set to debut on November 13, the docu-series will delve deep into the Diamond League meets, the national championships, and, of course, the Paris Olympics. Along with the announcement, several other insights about the new season were provided. Chief among them was the induction of several new athletes into the storyline.

However, the one big highlight of the event was probably the omission of Sha’Carri Richardson from the mix. Constituting a major part of season 1, the absence of Richardson will be a huge piece of news. Although the exclusion speculations are solely based on the names announced during the presser, there is no confirmed news about the women’s 100m Olympic silver medalist not being a part of the show.

Sha’Carri Richardson had a fantastic outing at the US trials prior to Paris. Accused of slow timing all around the year, the 24-year-old recorded the fastest time in the trials to storm into Paris. Riding high on confidence, Sha’Carri Richardson was expected to be improving her timing in Paris. Unfortunately, that did not happen, and Richardson faltered significantly to clinch the silver medal, clocking a mere 10.87s.

Julien Alfred came as a surprise entrant who whizzed past her opponents to pick up her maiden Olympic gold by clocking 10.72s. But Richardson’s temporary slip in the 100m event did not affect her performance in the relay. Owning the track after being handed over the baton, Sha’Carri Richardson was a notch above the rest and helped her nation get the gold medal in Paris. Well, even though there is a possibility of Sha’Carri Richardson missing out from the famous Netflix docuseries, there are several other athletes whose intriguing tales will be captured this time to evoke the emotions of the fans.

SPRINT:2 will revolve around new athletes and their story

According to the updates provided, a chunk of the Olympic medal-winning athletes will be taking center stage in the second installment of Sprint. The likes of Noah Lyles, Gabby Thomas, Kishane Thompson, Fred Kerley, Letsile Tebogo, Twanisha Terry, and more will narrate their stories from rags to the shining podium of the Paris Olympics. Apart from these names, several new faces can also be spotted on the list.

Have an interesting take?

As a result of her gold-winning performance in the women’s 100m discipline, Julien Alfred has been named as one of the main characters of the season. Kenny Bednarek and Marcell Jacobs too, will be soaking in all the glory of being featured on the vastly acclaimed series of Netflix, narrating tales of their hard work and glory. While the fans will surely have a fantastic time watching these athletes, a couple of big names were missing from the list apart from Sha’Carri Richardson. The likes of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson-Herah did not make the cut as well. Thus, with the dates being announced, the hype among the fans is going sky high as all eyes will be on November 13 to witness some intriguing history unfold.
