Sha’Carri Richardson takes a unique interest in witnessing and cheering the sprinting talents from the fence line. In February this year, the reigning 100m world champion appeared in the Millrose Games to watch rival Julien Alfred’s 60m indoor race. Keeping a fervent eye on all those sprinting feet, Sha’Carri Richardson clapped at the victory of the St. Lucian sprinter with a grin on her face. In the Miramar Invitational 2024 as well, the 24-year-old American sprinter appeared, but not in the sprinter’s suit.
Sha’Carri’s appearance in the fence line sent jitters among the fans on Saturday. However, this time as well, the purpose seemed not to differ from her Millrose Games attendance.

In the absence of Sha’Carri Richardson and her arch-rival Sherika Jackson, the 100m heat and final events lost the expected ornamentation. The American sprinting talent, Natasha Morrison, took the lowest time to clear the final round. However, Natasha’s 11.19 remained far behind SCR’s 100m timing(10.65) made in the Budapest World Championship in 2023. In the 200m final as well, the winner, Sada Williams’s timing (22.82) remained bleak compared to that of Sha’Carri, made in Budapest.
