The exceptional 2023 track and field season has finally wrapped up, but it seems the athletes are not done making waves. The season’s most dominant performer, Noah Lyles, took off to Italy with his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield, for a luxurious holiday. During his trip, he lit the ramp on fire at the Milan Fashion Week. Now, his blood brother’s shenanigans on foreign soil alongside his girlfriend have caught the spotlight.

While Noah Lyles dominated the track and field world with his three iconic accolades at the World Championships, his brother Josephus Lyles was not far behind. The T. C. Williams High School graduate won the silver medal at the ISTAF Berlin Meet, showcasing the power of the Lyles DNA. Now, like his brother Noah Lyles and most other athletes, he is off to a vacation to unwind and spend some time with his beau.

Noah Lyles’ brother flew off to Mexico to enjoy a well-deserved break after his impressive performance in Berlin. Taking a cue from his brother and Junelle Bromfield’s promise “to have fun,” the youngest scion of the Lyles clan has planned a series of activities for himself and his girlfriend. His girlfriend, Angie Annelus, who is an America-based track and field athlete, was swept off her feet by Josephus Lyles’ romantic gesture. The couple posted many photos from their vacation in Cancun, where they went horseback riding, quad biking, zip-lining, and much more. Besides them, many other athletes have also been taking advantage of their time off to travel. Track Spice, a popular blogger, compiled a list of track and field stars who are currently on vacation under an X post titled “Athletes on vacation”.

The post began with Salwa Eid Naser, who is currently enjoying her break in Thailand. The 2023 season has been especially hard for this former world champion from Bahrain. She suffered a hamstring tendon injury that forced her to bow out of the World Athletic Championship in Budapest. Next on his list was Shericka Jackson’s rival Dina Asher-Smith, who, prior to the World Championships, declared, “I’m stronger, faster, technically better and I’m more confident”. But she lost the 100-meter gold to Sha’Carri Richardson and is currently licking her wounds in Hawaii. Nicole Yeargin is in Dubai after falling to Femke Bol at the World Championships in the 4x400m mixed relay final. These aren’t the only athletes who have traversed the length of the globe to find relaxation after a season full of intense competition.
