After the epic conclusion of the Paris Olympics, top athletes are again gearing up for some hard-core action. This time, the Wanda Diamond League is the occasion that will feature world-leading athletes like Femke Bol and Jakob Ingebrigtsen. However, all eyes will be on the Paris Olympic silver medalist in the 400m hurdle, Karsten Warholm, fresh off a successful Olympic run. All the athletes taking part in the diamond league have reached Silesia, Poland, for the event.

Appearing for the press conference, Karsten Warholm seemed to have settled in and was ready to take on the challenge ahead. When asked about the weather that is going to be around 30 degrees on race day and how Vikings like to run in such circumstances, Warholm came up with the cheeky response. “Vikings doesn’t give a fuck. I think the weather is gonna be, you know, no problem; actually, my muscles prefer warm weather. I think it’s much easier to run fast when it’s warm,” said the three-time world champion.

The host also asked about his lane preference, to which Worhalm again came up with an interesting reply. “Oh, it’s a big question, me and my coach, we walked lane 7 and lane 8, and we landed at, we wanted to run at lane 8. You know, there was a ladybug that flew off lane 8, so we were like lane 8. It’s good luck, you know.” Not stopping there, the Norwegian sprint sensation, brimming with confidence and knowing full well the record he’s chasing, is determined to shatter it. On Wednesday, September 4, at the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich, Switzerland, right before the diamond league finale kicks in, the two champions of their sports will clash to determine who is best in 100m. The tussle has apparently been simmering since July 2023, when the video on AthleticsHQ YouTube featured both discussing the idea of a 100m race.
