It was Shericka Jackson all over the place in Hayward Field’s women’s sprinting category. Apart from the 200-meter world championship, the Jamaican legend added two more Diamond League trophies to her wall of fame. The 29-year-old Jamaican runner won both individual titles in the Prefontaine Classic 2023. Not only did she reestablish her dominance in her “200-meter territory,” but she also lifted the 100-meter trophy.

Her staunch performances at the event could have served as a wake-up call for two of her competitors and closest rivals, Sha’Carri Richardson and Elaine Thompson-Herah, as both of these 100-meter specialists were beaten by Jackson in Eugene on Saturday. She discussed her future endeavors in a post-race interview, in which she revealed that she is coming for both titles in the future as well.

In a video posted by CITIUS MAG on their YouTube channel, the world champion was asked about her big goals aside from the world record. To this, Jackson replied, “I just started running the 100 and 200 since 2021, so to be able to run 10.6 and to be able to run 21.4 is so consistent. I think there is so much more I want to achieve.”

She also added that she still has to master the 100 meters, and there is a lot that she and her coach have to work on. However, she also emphasized the significant improvement she has made this year.

She also says that one of her primary goals this year was to run the 100-meter heat in 10.5 seconds, which she has yet to achieve. Apart from this, she also wanted to break the world record, which is also an unachievable quest. She also mentioned next year, which is the Olympic year, and expressed that the event is going to be something special for her.

Well, if her recent performances are taken into consideration, then she is definitely going to give a hard time to Thompson-Herah and Richardson.
