The Olympic beckoning is getting stronger and athletes around the world are on the final stretch to the big showdown. With the promise of glory looming overhead, the USATF has released the schedule for the national team qualifiers for a chance to represent the country on the big stage. According to the latest news released by the country’s authoritative track and field body, athletes will be starting their race for a spot in Team USA as early as June 21. The competitions will go on for more than a week and stars from every discipline will have to undergo several rounds before they book their ticket to Paris for the Games.

While some events will see athletes battling it out for a spot in the national team for more rounds, other lesser-trodden paths will begin directly closer to the finals with fewer athletes competing for the chance to represent the country on the biggest stage of them all.

The most sought-after events like men’s and women’s 100m will be decided early. These events will have the qualifiers on the second and third days of the competition. For the same in 200m, enthusiasts have to wait till the end.

The winners of this event in both men’s and women’s categories will be decided on the 9th day (June 29). While the qualification run for the Olympics has already started with recent Marathon qualifiers, several track icons are yet to secure their places through the upcoming trials.

Richardson was kept off the national team list for the 2020 Olympics because of her failing to meet the qualifying criteria and will look to make amends this time around. On the other hand, Lyles’ recent 60m win at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix has the fans dreaming of another Olympic medal in Paris. Apart from them, Ryan Crouser overcoming his physical setbacks to win last year’s shot put world title is fueling more air into the Olympic fire.
