Karsten Warholm is the world record setter for Men’s 400-meter race with hurdles. He posted a clip on his official Instagram account, captioned, “Putting the WIN in WINTER! -21 but no excuses.” The video features Karsten Warholm undergoing intense training sessions while crossing multiple hurdles and increasing speed in heavily snow-clad surroundings, showcasing his enthusiasm for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Karsten Warholm opted to remain shirtless during the training session at -21 degrees Celsius temperature in the snow of the Bislett Stadion Track in Oslo. While the Norwegian athlete was running in a ‘lane’, his inseparable coach Olav Alnes, in full winter gear, recorded his time. But What may be in the mind of the champion?

A step to have an edge over others?

Karsten Warholm secured an Olympic berth while recording a historic best time in the 400m hurdle event at the 2023 World Athletics Championships, Budapest, last year. While most of the athletes prefer to stay home in this cold season, Warholm is undergoing unforgiving training to begin the Olympic year for a good cause. Probably, this is an attempt to enhance his endurance against all the odds. The place where he belongs might also have a role in that.
