The United States has dominated the 100-meter track this season. With staunch performances by Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles, the United States was able to win both the 100-meter races at the World Athletics Championship. The team even secured gold at the 400m hurdle race on the second day of the event. However, Team USA faced a huge setback in the 800-meter races this season.

With three runners participating in the heats only one athlete has qualified for the event. Sadly, Isaiah Harris in the hopes of qualifying for the event showcased disgraceful behavior at the race. A photo of the athlete risking his competitors caused the stir in the Track and Field community.

On day four of the World Athletics Championship, Isaiah Harris made a blunder for himself. On August 22, while competing in heat 3 of the 800-meter qualifier, the athlete was seen pushing the other athletes participating in the event. Amid this behavior, Isaiah Harris finished fourth and did not qualify for the event. Kenyan sprinter Ngeno Kipngetich won the qualifying event with a time of 1:47.63. After the loss of the United States, the NBC Sports Director of Social Media posted the picture with the caption “Men’s 800m Heat 3.”

Further displaying the results of the event, the tweet added “1:47.63 Alex Kipngetich, I:4.67, Djamel Sedjati, 1:47.67; Saul Ordonez, 1:47.97, Isaiah Harris 1:48.00 (will not advance).” In the picture, Isaiah Harris is seen pulling Kipngetich backward to get a lead in the race. Due to this disqualification out of three US sprinters participating in the 800-meter event, only one was able to move forward in the event.
