It is just a few hours more and the Windy City of Chicago will welcome the Chicago Marathon 2024 with open arms. As per the organizers, thousands will take the street on Sunday (October 13) to celebrate an event famous for its spectacular arrangement. Continuing the tradition, runners will be rewarded with a bonus if they achieve a new event record time, as seen in previous years. However, fans have yet to know if this arrangement succeeded in taking up a spot in Keira D’Amato’s mind, but according to the notifications, she will return to the Chicago Marathon 2024 with a bang!
Following a dismal performance in the US Olympic marathon trials in February of this year, D’Amato has undergone some heavy grinding. She moved from Richmond, Virginia, to Park City, Virginia, for altitude training. In addition, she has changed her coaching fold to Ed Eyestone. Nonetheless, by incorporating such changes, the 39-year-old American runner has gained motivation to give her sports love another day, and this time with a surprise.
All the preparations are complete for Keira D’Amato’s entry at the Chicago Marathon 2024. Moreover, her husband, Anthony, will also enter the event. But the veteran has a challenge for him. In her pre-event press conference, D’Amato said, “I think it’s cute that he thinks he’ll be within 40 minutes.” But according to her, if Anthony succeeds in the challenge, he will get a WWE Championship belt. This means that at the 2024 Chicago Marathon, he must finish within 40 minutes of his wife’s finishing time. Finishing in 40 minutes, someone who formerly held the American marathon record! Isn’t that a hard job?

Surely, it is and this time, Keira is coming with some top-notch preparations. As per the update, the runner has hired Matthew Centrowitz as her pacer in the Chicago Marathon 2024. Well, Centrowitz’s qualification is that he has an Olympic gold in the men’s 1500m event. So that shows Keira’s mindset before heading to the event. Another part is Keira will step in the Chicago Marathon with her training partner, Makena Morley, double motivation, isn’t it?
So, the Chicago Marathon 2024 can be Keira D’Amato’s moment. After all, it is going to be one of the comeback races. Therefore, her fans can bet on her. A few days ago, in an interaction, Keira D’Amato said, “I have no idea. I’ve never done a build like this, and I’ve never trained at altitude, so I don’t know what it all means.” It was still early in her new exercise routine. But now, the American University alum is confident that she will be able to complete her purpose at the Chicago Marathon in 2024.
Just before the actual race, she sat down with Citius Mag to share her side. In the tête-à-tête, Keira threw her weight behind her training schedule. She ultimately conceded, “It’s been one of my best builds. My mileage was higher, I’m training at altitude, volume is better. It’s been really solid, but I don’t know what that equals. Usually, it’s like, ‘This plus this equals this.’ And now I’m like, ‘This plus this? I have no idea how to translate it.’” Overall, Keira D’Amato wants to make her experience a nice affair in the streets of Chicago. Now, that might pose a challenge to Anthony. Isn’t it?
