The name Quincy, whether Hall or Wilson is turning heads in the track and field. Well most recently, on 12th July, Quincy Hall set the track on fire for Team USA, breaking records left and right. Hall, who already has a world medal under his belt, is now gearing up to dazzle at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Just two weeks before the Games, he showcased his superpowers at the Monaco Diamond League, storming to a blazing 43.80 seconds in the men’s 400m, securing the world lead and breaking his own record.
Hall crossed the finish line ahead of fellow American Vernon Norwood, who also recorded a seasonal best of 44.34, while Lythe Pillay of South Africa completed the podium. “There was no difference between today’s race and any other race. I knew I could run fast,” Hall stated after the race. “After the American trials, I knew I needed to step up my game a little bit, and that it would be enough to run this fast. I feel like I have a lot more gas in the tank. I just need to hit the ground running, and then I can finish strong as well. Going to Paris, I do not feel like I have a target on my back.”Hall is clearly the favorite heading into Paris. But his trial performance can never be forgotten!

At the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, 25-year-old Quincy, who switched gears from the 400m hurdles just two years ago, delivered a career-defining performance with a lifetime best of 44.17 seconds. His sprint, where he left 2022 world champion Michael Norman in his wake in the final stretch, showcased Quincy’s rapid adaptation to the flat 400m event. Originally a hurdler, Quincy made a strategic pivot after the 2022 season—a move that is now paying off as he continues to break new ground on the track.
