“I think this stadium was made for me,” Noah Lyles said after his stunning performance at the 2024 Olympic Games. For 99% of the race to crown the world’s fastest man, Lyles trailed behind Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson, who seemed set to bring gold back to Jamaica for the first time since Usain Bolt’s Rio 2016 victory. As the eight athletes crossed the line in a blur, the 80,000-strong Stade de France crowd was in suspense.
Ultimately, Lyles emerged victorious, capturing three gold medals and setting world records with times of 9.4 seconds in the 100m and 19.10 seconds in the 200m. Lyles has made the US team proud. Now, it’s time for Noah Malone, the 2019 World Para Athletics champion in the 4x100m universal relay, to carry the torch and continue Team USA’s legacy at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

In the episode of August 24, in the YouTube podcast Ready Set Go, Justin Gatlin joked about Noah Malone’s girlfriend cheering for Noah Lyles, as he said, “Another thing, man—this young man is just so modest. We were sitting in the stands for the Olympic final, and I did a little research, man. I don’t know if you want to share, but your girlfriend was sitting in the Olympic final of the men’s 100, too. She was right there cheering for the other Noah.” With a mix of admiration and playful teasing, Justin is pointing out Noah Malone’s modesty.
However, it is not only Noah Malone’s girlfriend; there were many fans like her cheering for Noah Lyles because of his exceptional performances in his track and field career. Now, having gained the title of ‘fastest man in the world,’ this American track and field star has 6 World Championship titles. As the most decorated US track star, Noah’s path is now being followed by Noah Malone. With a 5-year age gap, Noah Malone may someday reach Lyles’ achievements.

His road to Paris was not without challenges as he was diagnosed with a rare eye condition, Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy. It left him with 20/600 vision in his right eye and 20/400 in his left eye. Reflecting on his struggle, he said, “I lost my vision when I was 13, so it wasn’t like I was born in, born with the, the vision loss.”
Kickstarting his track and field career at a very young age, at just ten years old, he lost his vision. But his condition could not stop him from achieving success on the global stage. He is a 2019 gold and silver medalist at the World Para Athletics Junior Championships in Nottwil, Switzerland. Having won a silver medal in the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, he will aim for gold at Stade de France in Paris, just like ‘practice Noah’ Lyles. As Noah Lyles has already done his job by winning gold and silver medals with his stellar performances, it is now Noah Malone’s time to shine at the Paris Paralympics. He will participate in this summer’s 100m, 400m, and 4x400m relay.
