As the 2024 Paris Olympics is only a few months away, track and field athletes are preparing for their remarkable Olympic year. Along the same lines, Shericka Jackson is pouring heart and sweat into the practice as she gears up to make her 2024 debut. Interestingly, Shericka was quite exceptional in the last track-and-field season. 

In addition to this, she recently stood atop the podium at the Jamaica Pegasus as she added the feather of Jamaica’s Sportswoman of the Year accolade to her list of achievements. Now, Shericka Jackson is even hungrier than ever before, as she is igniting to achieve more remarkable achievements this season. However, Shericka is not the only Jamaican Track and field star under the spotlight. 

Jamaica’s Track and Field excellence making a debut in the 2024 season

Since the beginning of the 2024 season, Jamaica has been awaiting the debut of its top sports athletes. Interestingly, Jamaican Athletes have recently announced their arrival in the field. Recently, Owen M took it to the official Twitter account and posted a couple of pictures of Jamaican athletes who are making their 2024 debut.

Along with the pictures, she wrote a heartfelt message, “Shericka Jackson will compete in the women’s 60m at the Queen’s/Grace Jackson Meet this Saturday! She’ll face tough competition from Briana Williams, Shashalee Forbes & Tia Clayton. Janeek Brown is also entered Ackeem Blake headlines the men’s field.

Shericka Jackson will be marking her first appearance at the women’s 60m at the Queen’s and Grace’s Jackson meet scheduled next Saturday. On the other hand, Ackeem Blake and Ackera Nugent have confirmed for the upcoming A World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold in the second week of February in New York. Interestingly, Shericka Jackson is more awaited than other athletes. But Why?

Shericka is aiming to break previous records

Last year, Jamaica’s athletics queen stunned spectators with her incredible performance at the 200 m at the World Athletics Championship held in Hungary. She not only recorded the second-fastest time ever recorded in history but also clinched the second world title while recording 21.41 seconds.

Eventually, Shericka shattered her own championship record set earlier at 21.45, secured at the Oregon World Championship 2022. While having an armful of trophies, Jackson shared her goals for the 2024 season. Now, she is eyeing at breaking the record set by Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1998. Will Shericka be able to shatter the previously set records?
