Day 1 of the 2023 Prefontaine Classic, Diamond League Final in Eugene was nothing short of exhilarating. Athletes from around the world showed their dominance in the world of track and field. While numerous races left spectators in awe, one race stood out, which was the men’s 100-meter finals. In this electrifying showdown reigning World Champion Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman, went head-to-head. Coleman eventually claimed victory with a staggering time of 9.83 seconds, narrowly edging out Lyles, who crossed the finish line in 9.85 seconds.

Despite coming in second, Noah Lyles had every reason to celebrate. His consistent performances throughout the 2023 season had already earned him the prestigious title of World Champion. However, as Day 2 of the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League Final commenced on Sunday, September 17th, the spotlight shifted to young sprinter, Noah Malone. This 21-year-old American sprinter captured the hearts of millions with his extraordinary performance.

In the thrilling para 100m race at the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League Final, it was the USA’s Noah Malone who blazed across the finish line in 10.72 seconds.

Zachary Shaw from Great Britain followed with a respectable 10.99 seconds, while Jaydin Blackwell of the USA clocked in at 11.01.

NBC Olympics & Paralympics shared a post on Twitter that said, “At the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League Final in Eugene, HE WAS FLYING! 21-year-old American @NoahMalone13 captures the men’s para 100m victory in 10.72 at the @nikepreclassic!”

Axel Zorzi from France finished with a time of 11.29, and Olivier Hendriks from the Netherlands completed the race in 11.39 seconds. Malone’s victory marked the first time he had placed first at a Diamond League event, a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.

The rising track star Noah Malone

Noah Malone’s achievements extend beyond this remarkable victory. He had already won gold in the 100m T12 at the Para Athletics World Championships in France in July, further solidifying his status as a rising star in para-athletics.

His incredible journey includes three Paralympic medals, one gold and two silver, earned at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Looking ahead, Malone is poised to add to his medal count at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

While Christian Coleman and Noah Lyles delivered an electrifying sprinting duel on Day 1, it was Noah Malone who stole the hearts of millions on Day 2 with his outstanding performance.
