Kenyan sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala is an African record holder on the 100m track. Holding many victories in the 60m, 100m, and 200m races, his triumph in the 2022 Commonwealth Games has been the most highlighting one, where he clocked a time of 10.o2 second, bringing home Kenya’s first gold in 60 years. Going through the background he comes from, the Kenyan sprinter recently talked about his struggles in life.

Amidst all the challenges that he has faced concerning poverty and life, Ferdinand Omanyala is a strong and determined personality who believes in not giving up. His optimistic mindset on how an individual can amend the atrocities that life throws, using hard work and a disciplined life, is what he probably wanted to reflect in his recent post on social media.

The ninth fastest man of all time, Ferdinand Omanyala, in a recent post on X, stated about the misery and hardships that he and his family have been through. While on the tracks, he might be projected as a threat to the US sprinters, the 28-year-old clearly has a bigger demon to fight. His post read, “We come from humble families, old houses, and small towns with sad stories. We are not hustling to impress or be in competition with anyone. I just want to change the storyline and the fights that were never won. In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.”

Scuffling to shine brightly out of his comfort zone, the African fastest man has finally changed his situation and has emerged as a renowned track and field athlete. Though recently, he failed to clinch a medal at the 2024 World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, the road to the Paris Olympics 2024 is what he currently aims for.

Omanyala’s Road to Paris Olympics 2024

Upbeat for his medal prospects at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Ferdinand Omanyala does not target to miss the Olympic medal by an inch this time. Prepared and hopeful to secure a berth at this year’s Olympics, the Kenyan sprinter stated during the Toyota CFAO Motors Kenya Omanyala event, “I feel things are better this time and I am sure with the kind of trajectory I have now, it will be possible to excel in Paris.”

Personally, I am looking forward to a great season. My objective is to build on what I have built in the past seasons to have an excellent one this term.”, he announced. Being among the big names from Kenya to represent the country in the grand event, Ferdinand Omanyala will be seen gunning for Kenya’s maiden medal in the 100m track and field in the anticipated Olympic Games.
