Struggling isn’t an alien concept to Noah Lyles. From training every day to staying on top of his form to constantly dishing out top-notch performances week after week, the six-time World Championships gold medalist has to put in maximum effort regularly. And yet, his own health can sometimes make things more difficult than anything else. Over the years, Lyles has had to stay in constant touch with doctors to ensure his lungs work to the best of their ability, but wobbles on the road just can’t be eliminated.
Last year, Noah revealed steroids have become a regular thing in his life to help him cope with his asthma. However, as per his latest comments, it seems like his concerns with the pressing health issue aren’t going away anytime soon.
Noah Lyles didn’t have an easy start

In a recent interview with Dazed, the five-time Diamond League winner talked about how his life has been an ode to struggle. There, Noah said that he has learned a lot of things about the journey over the years. “I was able to learn very early on that life is a series of ups and downs, and that every scenario isn’t a hole, but a tunnel,” said Lyles as he talked about how his views on life were engraved in his mind during his childhood when he spent “spent in and out of hospitals and on and off breathing machines”.
From the age of two, Noah came in close contact with severe asthma issues, that kept him making regular visits to the doctors till the age of eight. While Noah comes from a family of experienced track and field athletes, he had to wait till high school before he could participate in any sports himself.

While his aspirations to become a Manga artist didn’t pan out, it shouldn’t be thought he didn’t make do with what came his way. Now that the 26-year-old has settled down in his role, as one of the country’s top sprinters, he has grand plans to etch himself among the sport’s elites forever.
Lyles is ready to take what is his
The reigning world champion runner has been making boastful claims about his plans for Paris in August. At the upcoming Olympics, Lyles said, he will bag gold in every event he participates in. While his ambitions might seem greedy to some fans, he only wishes to usurp the top status of Usain Bolt, revealed Noah.

At the recently concluded Atlanta City Games, Lyles picked up a massive win in the men’s 150m race over Britain’s Zharnel Hughes, while also claiming that he doesn’t have any competition in the 200m event, despite having yet to run the race this year.
In the Bahamas Relay earlier this month, Noah contributed significantly to the USA’s win in the men’s 4x100m relay race. Now, as Noah’s focus turns to the Racer’s Grand Prix on June 1, where he has entered the men’s 200m race, it waits to be seen if he can once again rise above his health troubles to bolster claims on the big prize at the upcoming Games.
