The Texas Longhorns alum, Xavier Worthy had recently taken to break the NFL scouting combine’s 40-yard dash record as he clocked the time of 4.21 seconds. Amidst the dual excitement of the World Indoor Championships and the 2024 NFL Combine, wide receiver Xavier Worthy was in the limelight for his exceptional record. He even surpassed Usain Bolt’s unofficial time that was recorded during the 2019 Super Bowl event.

The given equation has stirred controversy, as athletes and fans have come forth to defend their favorite. The rising sprinting star, Noah Lyles has also joined the conversation, siding with Usain Bolt’s achievement.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, @LylesNoah, Noah Lyles of the United States outrightly supported Usain Bolt’s record, to prove who is the ultimate GOAT. His tweet reads, “Do we have to show the video of him running that time with jeans, no cleats, and no warming up. Just to remind y’all.”

At the 2019 Super Bowl Experience, Usain Bolt’s unofficial 40-yard dash record was clocked at 4.22 seconds. He was wearing sweatpants and tennis shoes, and despite any specific training he set one of the best records. It was equal to the record set by John Ross in 2017. And now, Xavier Worthy’s remarkable record of 4.21-second 40-yard dash is being paralleled to that of Bolt. Amidst the conversation, Lyles is defending Bolt’s performance as he set the record casually which should not need any reminder.

As Bolt’s video has resurfaced on the Internet, Lyles took to highlight his attire and the casual nature of his run, which establishes Bolt’s greatness. On the other hand, Worthy had set the record in a formal NFL setting.
