Home/Olympics

The buildup to the Olympic games is going great for the US track and field community. The championships and qualifiers are giving a perfect start to an Olympic year. Along similar lines, the 2024 USATF Indoor Championships is a crucial stopover before the big games. Among others, the Albuquerque event once again brings the focus back to the iconic rivalry between Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman.

Noah Lyles announced his season opener with his staunch performance in the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix 60m win. This week presents the spectacle when Noah will face his arch-rival Christian Coleman in the same event at the USATF Indoor Championship. And the 6x world champion made no bones about his intentions in the upcoming clash.

Ahead of making an appearance at the 2024 USATF Indoor Championships, Noah Lyles sat with the FloTrack team and shared his vision for the upcoming championships. Directly after this, FloTrack took it to their Twitter account and posted a snippet of the interview along with the caption, “I’m ready for anything.” Noah Lyles says he’ll run whatever it takes to win the men’s 60m title this weekend at the USATF Indoor Championships.

The six-time world champion and 2020 Tokyo Bronze medalist will be heading the men’s 60m dash at the Trials on 17th Feb. The major reason for Noah’s appearance at the event is that the results will be used by the USA Track and Field to pick up the roster for the World Athletics Indoor Championships in March.

Noah started off this season on a high note at the Men’s 60 m sprint at Grand Prix Boston, wherein he recorded his personal best of 6.44 after defeating Fred Kerley. Now, Noah is hungrier than ever before. In the same interview with FloTrack, he said, “I’m ready for anything. If 6.47 is in, all of that, 6.31, all of that…Whatever it is, that’s where I’m ready to run.”

However, to record new personal bests and shatter world records is more challenging than Noah says. Interestingly, he has to go through intense competition at the event, majorly from Christian Coleman, to find a place for himself on the USA’s roster.
