Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield: The ultimate power couple in sports and fashion?

The moment is finally here! Remember when Noah Lyles sported Hugo Boss designs while he walked at the Milan Fashion Week last year? While his Jamaican girlfriend had cheered while he brought the house down, one year down the lane, the pair have finally made an appearance together! In the recent past, the couple has gone through a lot together—from criticism to Covid. But, it’s now time for them to enter an uncharted territory—the world of catwalks, not sprints; runways, not tracks.

As the spotlight turns to the New York Fashion Week for a hot minute, Lyles and Junelle enter not as mere attendees, but as models. Is ‘steal the show’ on his list of agendas? Well, probably, for the two took center stage and strutted down the stage for a brand established by a two-time Grammy-nominated artist.

Taking to her Instagram, Junelle Bromfield added a string of stories from her debut runway walk. This happened to be Noah’s second, for he debuted for Willy Chavarria on Day 1. But for Junelle, it was a thrilling first. As seen in the newest updates, the couple modeled for Dim Mak x Toei Animation, donning apparel that was part of their One Piece Spring/Summer 2025 runway collection.

Shedding light on the brands they wore, Steve Aoki, an American DJ and a 2x nominee to the 55th and 59th editions of Grammy, is the creative director of the Dim Mak label, who joined hands with One Piece on the occasion of the latter’s 25th anniversary. While Aoki’s designs inclined towards streetwear style, the other partner sprinkled an anime touch. And the results were comfortable, stylish, and savvy-looking fits.

This comes in a day after he declared on his story, “As Junelle is my witness today, I am starting One Piece.” Indeed, he can never get enough of anime!

Junelle on the other hand also opened up on the experience of her debut walk. In one of the stories, she wrote, “Just did my first show yaaayyy” against the backdrop of a video with Steve Aoki holding her and Lyles’ hands, as they three take a bow. While the energy looked infectious and Junelle appeared confident in her walk, she did not shy from unveiling the reality. In another of her stories, she penned, “Walking is not as easy as it looks 😂😂😂.

Featuring in Vogue’s edition of ‘Everything you need to know’ about the Spring 2025 New York Fashion Week, Steve Aoki claimed that this collaboration brings a high-fashion twist to streetwear. He added, “I believe in merging the worlds of anime and high fashion, creating a new space where these two cultures meet in a way that hasn’t been done before.”

Regardless of their funky designs, the pieces seemed to have a luxury feel. Thus, it can be said that nothing about the collaboration seemed unnatural or one brand overpowering the other. It looked like a blend of ‘craftsmanship and sophistication’ as Steve would like to put it. But do you think Noah Lyles and Junelle pulled off the designs well? Share your thoughts below!
