The City of Love is ready to welcome Noah Lyles and his girlfriend, Junelle Bromfield! After the 26-year-old punched his ticket to Paris, there was no way the Jamaican athlete wouldn’t follow suit. The Jamaican Olympic Team Trials in Kingston concluded, with Bromfield earning her place in the 2024 games. And, as expected, no one was more publicly proud of her achievement than her boyfriend, Noah Lyles.

Noah Lyles took to X to celebrate Bromfield’s achievement, exclaiming, ‘THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!!!!! @JunelleBromfield IS GOING TO THE OLYMPICS IN THE 400m!!!!‘ Bromfield secured her place on the team with a third-place finish in the women’s 400m finals, clocking 51.24 seconds. Nickisha Pryce finished first in 50.1 seconds, followed by Stacey-Ann Williams in second with 50.56 seconds, and Stephenie Ann McPherson in fourth with 51.28 seconds. Notably, in the preliminaries the day before, Bromfield had set a personal best of 50.74 seconds.

Bromfield also shared the good news on her Instagram profile with a cheeky reminder for her followers, writing, “CALL ME A 2x Olympian”to which her boyfriend replied, “I’m soooooo proud of you. You worked so hard for this”.

Earlier, the US athlete had also qualified with a dominant performance, breaking four-time Olympic gold medalist, Michael Johnson’s 28-year-old Trials record in the 200 meter event. He posted 19.53 seconds over Johnson’s 19.66 seconds. Lyles, who had won Bronze (200m) in his first Olympic appearance in 2021, is a strong contender for gold this year. And that confidence was visible in the young athlete’s voice as he spoke to reporters post the iconic feat. “The U.S. has been dominating. We’ve had two medalists at least at each world championship and Olympics since 2021. So the 200, we definitely have a strong, strong [chance] for sweeping it,” he said, as per ESPN.

But this dominant form is somewhat of a reflection of the star’s promise to his girlfriend. In an earlier conversation, he had revealed, “My girlfriend said I’m beating everybody, so I’m going to listen to my girlfriend and beat everybody,” Now that’s what we call commitment!

As for the Lady Love in question, this isn’t Bromfield’s first Olympics either! Like Noah, Junelle also won a bronze medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Both are now aiming for their first Olympic gold, and fans couldn’t be more excited to see the couple take over the world stage.
