The world of track and field has been buzzing with excitement this Olympic year at a global, national, and collegiate level. One standout moment was the epic performance at the Razorback Invitational this year as the NCAA track season commenced. A 19-year-old sophomore from Louisiana State University (LSU) ignited a massive showdown of talent, clinching victory and earning a personal best.

And now, continuing to make waves in the sport, this Jamaican sprinter, who also holds the 200m under-13s world record, has secured a massive NIL deal with a brand valued at approximately a whopping $16 billion in 2022.

19-year-old LSU standout earns a career-bolstering NIL deal

In an Instagram post by the talented track star Brianna Lyston of Jamaica, the 19-year-old shared an exciting yet humbling update. She shared a three-image carousel post of herself dressed in comfortable sportswear and showing off some stunning kicks, announcing her signing a NIL deal with none other than mega sports brand Adidas. In the caption of her post, she shared a Bible verse, Philippians 2:13, and added, “Blessed to announce my partnership with Adidas through NIL.”

While more news is yet to be shared about the collaboration and deal, her fans are thrilled that she is getting much-deserved attention. This exciting news comes just weeks after she made waves for LSU with a season opener at the 2024 Arkansas Invitational track and field meet.

How Brianna Lyston opened the NCAA track and field season for LSU

The 2024 Razorback Invitational took place at Randal Tyson Track Center on January 26–27, 2024, and saw formidable competition blaze the track. Among them, Brianna Lyston ran and led the 60-meter sprint in an impressive 7.07 seconds, leaving a lasting impression. This time was not only a personal best for Lyston, outshining her previous performance from the same location in 2023, but also the fastest among collegiate athletes in the season.

Brianna Lyston’s time also matched the LSU school record set by Aleia Hobbs in 2018. But that’s not all. Her performance ranks the third-fastest time in the world this year and the fourth-fastest in collegiate history.
