Noah Igbinoghene made the Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, the happiest man with his performance in the debut match for the team. It was the cornerback’s first NFL touchdown with assistance from fellow teammate Juanyeh Thomas. The Dallas safety blocked the Giants’ attempt at a 45-yard field goal. From there, Thomas passed the ball to Igbinoghene, who ran 58 yards to the end zone. As he raced for the touchdown, the crowds gathered at the MetLife Stadium got a glimpse of his superior speed.

Amidst conjectures regarding his speed, Travis Miller, the NBC Sports director of social media, gave a valid explanation in an X post, saying, “That’s former high school 50′ triple jumper and sprinter Noah Igbinoghene returning a blocked field goal for a touchdown on Sunday Night Football!” This reminded the world of Noah Igbinoghene’s past connection with the track and field world.
Noah Igbinoghene’s parents were both track and field athletes and even competed in the Olympic Games. Naturally, his first induction into sports was through track and field, but he always had one foot on the football field. As a high school athlete for the Hewitt-Trussville High School in Alabama, he won many state championships in sprinting. He also won eight combined Alabama High School Athletic Association titles in long jumps and triple jumps.
Noah Igbinoghene played for his high school football team as a wide receiver and carried on that play when he went to college at Auburn University. In his sophomore year, he turned into a cornerback, in which role he earned many victories for the university. In the meantime, he also competed in the track and field events but his main goal was to secure a position in the league.

Noah Igbinoghene’s 2020 NFL Draft
The Miami Dolphins scooped up Noah Igbinoghene in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He entered the league as the youngest player, but the pandemic cut his offseason short. All of the preseason games were also called off, which gave the 20-year-old the opportunity to show his talent later on in the season.
He successfully covered Stefon Diggs in the match against the Buffalo Bills, facilitating eight receptions and one touchdown. After three years with the Dolphins, where he saw many ups and downs, Igbinoghene finally moved to the Dallas Cowboys on August 29.
