The verbal clash between Noah Lyles and Tyreek Hill just keeps getting juicier, with new faces jumping in by the day. The battle began when the Miami Dolphins wide receiver challenged the Olympic champion to a race—ideally a 50-yard dash. However, initially, Lyles did not want to pay much attention to the call. Rather, he labeled Hill “chasing clout.” Furthermore, he put his condition as well to make things painful for the NFL star. “We’re racing in the 100, we can race. If he’s truly serious about it. If he’s truly serious about it,” Noah returned the arrow by conceding that. But now, things stand on firm ground.

In his latest interview with Michael Eaves of ESPN’s SportsCenter, Noah hinted at moving in a 60m race against Tyreek Hill. “We’re in talks,” the 27-year-old put with a cheeky smile on his face. Still, he reminded fans once and for all, “I didn’t grab this title because it’s easy. I didn’t take the easy route.” That dig was surely aimed at Tyreek. However, Lyles did not opt for the event Cheetah had suggested. He also did not force Tyreek to go with his option. Rather, he settled for a neutral event—the 60m and his rival also hinted to agree with that. Any special reason?

In her conversation with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, Twanisha Terry tried to find one. Sharing the same national team, the Olympian has the experience of noticing Noah sprinting in front of her eyes. Based on that, she admitted her compatriot’s problematic start in the event. But she also mentioned that Noah’s finishes were great. That may have made Hill think once again of entering the 100m event against him. Furthermore, TT had some best words saved regarding watching Lyles on the track.

Recalling that experience, Terry said without biting her lips, “The man, the man when the man reached top speed. The sh-t crazy now.” That top speed might be the reason, unsettling Tyreek Hill to go for the 100m battle. Instead, he is prepared to carry on with the “talks” of running the 60-meter race. Although that event might not come without thorns for the 30-year-old football player. And this time as well, TT herself conceded the reason.

Noah Lyles has a few hidden treasures on the indoor track in addition to being the 100-meter world and Olympic champion. This year, he gave several spectacular performances in the indoor events. Meanwhile, he has a silver medal from the World Athletics Indoor Championship to boast of.

Ultimately, that led Twanisha to say, “Noah has run some great sixties with…terrible starts.” On the other hand, Tyreek Hill’s numbers in the junior-level sprinting stand dwarf compared to that of the six-time world champion. Those might give contrasting emotions to the camps before stepping into the proposed event. However, Tyreek seems to have an idea already about Noah’s might.

Did Tyreek Hill dodge the 100m race because he knew Noah Lyles would smoke him?

Have an interesting take?

Noah Lyles has already had an idea about his newest opponent on the track. That’s the reason he never showed desperation to enter the 50-yard event. Rather, he said, “If he’s [Tyreek Hill] truly serious about it. If he’s truly serious about it, and I’m not talking about you’re just talking on the internet … you’ll see me on the track.” He knew about Hill’s strong zone of running the 40-50 yard dash being a prominent wide breaker. That’s why he stretched the race to 60 m only. However, Tyreek has had his own insecurities as well.

In the ”Up & Adams” podcast, Hill didn’t mince his words while challenging Noah. But at the end, he concluded his statement by saying, “I’m not going to beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles.” Last year he registered a flamboyant 6.7 seconds in the 60m event of the USA Track and Field Masters. Therefore, in the proposed 60-meter event as well, Tyreek would want to repeat that extraordinary feat. But will that be enough to hold Lyles outbound? Well, his top performance in the 60m event has touched 6.43 seconds this year.
