Does Noah Lyles finally see eye-to-eye with Tyreek Hill? Well, possibly. Days after bandying words with each other over the sprint battle, it looks like the American speedster is finally open to negotiation with the NFL player. Indeed, he might pose as a fierce competitor on the track, but off it, Lyles is someone who emphasizes the need to show humanity. But has he decided to put all the differences aside? Let’s dive right into it.

Noah Lyles recently sat down with Stan Verrett from ESPN, who mentioned the much ‘ballyhooed’ race between Lyles and Tyreek Hill and inquired about its current status. Especially after Lyles’ take shifted from saying that Hill was ‘clout chasing’ to then extending support for what happened with the Miami Dolphins’ star in South Florida. Thus, Verrett asked, if the sprint duel is something that Lyles still takes seriously.

Clarifying the same, the reigning 100m Olympic champion responded, “Yeah, I mean the two scenarios are different, you know. One has to do with being human. And the other one has to do with sports…” Lyles clearly drew a distinct line between the two instances. But as the conversation proceeded, he added, “But in terms of running a race you know… look man…you got to be serious, everybody wants to jump up to the top. Everybody wants to race the fastest man…”

The host then proposed a scenario that if Tyreek Hill ran against somebody else and beat him, (somebody who Lyles respects a lot) will that qualify Hill to finally race Noah? Lyles’ response to this was a simple, “No you go to the next person then!” A huge laughter erupts in the Sports Center as the athlete voices this.

As the host continues to get to the bottom of the matter, he questions if there are there a lot of levels before Hill finally gets to race Noah Lyles. The Florida native was clear about this, as he affirmed, “Well, I will say we can’t run the 100!”  The host then reminded him, “Okay, he [Tyreek Hill] said 50 yards,” to which Lyles responded with, “We could do sixty!” When the host tried reconfirming the same, “Sixty?” Lyles confessed, “We’re in talks.”

Well, it looks like Lyles just opened the ground for negotiation on the distance debate. Earlier on the Dan Patrick show, Lyles had said that there might be leeway for adjustments but if Hill thinks they were running anything that had ‘yards’ in it, he was sorely mistaken. But, he himself has now given the green signal to the possibility of a sixty yard race. And this comes in days after he backed Hill after his arrest.

Tyreek Hill’s arrest left Noah Lyles fuming

Earlier this month, the Dolphins’ star found himself neck deep in an unanticipated controversy. After being detained for over speeding, Hill found himself being arrested, as things escalated beyond thought. But as the body cam footage of the same surfaced, Noah Lyles could not hold himself back. He called it, “Disgusting.”

Noah Lyles hailed Tyreek Hill for what he said in his post game interview. “What if it wasn’t him. This is what they do to us when they feel they might get in trouble. What do they do to us when they know the won’t get in trouble,” Lyles pinpointed that had Hill not been popular, things could have taken a turn for the worse.

But this was not the end of the the tensions between them. As Michael Johnson was only happy to fan the fire. In a recent X video, he is seen proposing the idea that the Noah Lyles vs Tyreek Hill sprint duel could happen at the Grand Slam Track. Will this be a possibility if the two agree on a number soon?
