Zay Flowers' reaction to Quincy Wilson's gold medal—Is this the sportsmanship we need more of?

Quincy Wilson is regarded as one of the best young prospects in the US track and field scene. At the mere age of 16, he’s turning heads with his records and performances. He holds the U18 World Record in the 400 meters running at a time of 44.20 seconds. His exceptional performances helped him earn a place at the Paris Olympics 4x400m relay team.

In Paris, he was the leadoff leg for the 4x400m relay team at the heats. However, a poor display of 47.27 seconds meant that he was not part of the team participating in the final, which ended up winning the gold medal. But, as he participated in the heats, he also bagged a gold medal, making him the youngest track and field Olympic gold medalist ever.

Since then, he seems to have slowly acquired celebrity status as he met with hip-hop icon Jay Z, courtesy of ESPN’s Ryan Clark. Now, on September 27th, he was invited by the NFL side Baltimore Ravens to showcase his medal to the players. Zay Flowers had a very wholesome reaction to looking at the Olympic medal as he weighed it in his hands. After that, he posed for a photo with Quincy. Fans are loving this interaction.

Some even suggested that both of them should race to see who’s actually faster. This is because Zay Flowers is considered quite fast among NFL players.

Zay ran a 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL scouting combine, finishing with a time of 4.42 seconds. This is a great time for the Ravens star and gives him an outside chance against Quincy. Quincy Wilson, on the other hand, raced Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder at the Fanatics Fest in New York. Quincy defeated him with ease.

Have an interesting take?

The Olympic gold medalist finished the race in 4.86 seconds, as he was jogging by the end of it, completely embarrassing the NFL star. However, a race with Zay would be more close, and Quincy would have to take it more seriously than he did with Channing Crowder. That’s why the fans want to see the outcome.

Fans react to Quincy Wilson linking up with Zay Flowers

One fan said, “This is so stinking cool!!!” It was a reaction to the interaction between Quincy Wilson and Zay Flowers. Fans were especially interested to see them because both of them are one of the leading prospects of their sport. While Quincy Wilson won an Olympic gold, Zay Flowers had a brilliant rookie season last year. The Ravens star was so good that he received a WR1 spot, a rare phenomenon for someone in his second season. Thus, it felt like the best of both worlds collided.

Another fan said, “Gold medal at 16 kicking it with the ravens is wild” This highlights the fact that Quincy Wilson has accomplished such huge things at such a young age. Numerous fans wanted them to race. “I need them both to race in the 40. I want to see the difference 👀” said one user. The demand for NFL-track crossover races has become huge ever since Tyreek Hill and Noah Lyles’ back and forth. While that race might soon come to fruition, this one could also be pretty exciting. Both being young, Quincy and Zay are in great shape and form.

A 4.42 second time for a 40m dash by Zay is pretty good and can be considered somewhat of a viable challenger to the Olympic gold medalist. While the track star still will have the upper hand, it won’t be as one-sided as him and Channing Crowder. However, another user suggested a different idea. They said that Quincy Wilson should consider joining the NFL.
