The track and field season might have ended, but the excitement is far from over. The annual New York City Marathon rekindled this excitement and brought 50,000 participants from all corners of the world. The 26.2-mile race took place on November 5, and many celebrities and famous runners took part in it. The marathon brought joy to one U.S. track star in an unexpected way.

Allyson Felix is the most decorated American track and field athlete, with 11 Olympic medals. After retiring from the sport, she started a brand with the idea “women deserve better”. Her brand, Saysh, has been in the middle of a brewing controversy regarding the gender disparity in the sport when it comes to designing running gear for female bodies. Saysh running shoes are the best in the market for women runners, and the NYC Marathon proved it.

Yesterday, the Olympian-turned-entrepreneur shared a few pictures from the NYC Marathon on her Instagram stories. In the first picture, a woman is running towards the finish line with double victory signs and a smile on her face. Allyson Felix was glad to see the woman wearing her brand’s shoes and wrote, “seeing @byshaysh on these incredible runners is everything”. The pride was apparent in her words, and it was clear that her initial mission of creating high-quality running shoes was being fulfilled. Allyson Felix shared more pictures of women sporting Saysh’s white running shoes in the marathon.

For her, it was not enough to design comfortable and optimized shoes for women. She wanted to make them stylish as well. Therefore, Allyson Felix teamed up with her brother Wes Felix and designed the shoes with a modern and urban appeal. Her motto is, “Inequality might know no bounds, but neither do we,” which hints at continued innovation as a central tenet for the brand. In another picture, Felix showed her support for another Olympian like herself, who closed this year’s marathon in a remarkable way.
