Scheduled for March 1st & 2nd, 2024, the AARTFC Indoor Regionals organizes the biannual NCAA Division III track and field championship championships for teams from the Niagara, Mideast, Mid-Atlantic, and Metro regions. The newest entries joining the regionals are Montclair State University seniors John Griffith and Jabez Thomas, reported the Montclarion.

Griffith secured a remarkable second place in shot-put at the D3 Invitational with a season-best throw of 16.5 meters, and maintains a focused routine, blocking out distractions to enhance his throws. Thomas moved up to 13th nationally in the triple jump, emerging victorious at the same invitational.

Thomas emphasizes the commitment necessary to hone his skill by saying, The past couple of months to like last year I have been working on my second phase.” While Griffith’s go-to for developing technique, distance, or mindset is the need to focus on particular components of each meet. The athletes serve as paragons of the hard work and sheer determination required to achieve their current positions.

February meet records and words of affirmation

Griffith maintained his excellent form in the Fastrack National Invitational held on February 9, where he placed fifth in shot put and sixth in the weight throw. Thomas was wise to take care of his physical health and decided to rest following the D3 Invitational. Their coach, Carter, is confident in their ability to excel on the national stage and draws a similarity between the work ethic followed by them, because both of them stoke their flames with their ability to dream big and strike when the iron is hot.
