In the video, the former POTUS refers to the 2016 NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers and the former team of LeBron James as the world champions. While this is a throwback video, it adds a new spark to this ongoing tiff.

It was former President Barack Obama who extended an invitation to the Cavaliers squad to visit the White House following their victory in 2016. The video capturing this momentous event has been shared on the NBA’s official YouTube channel under the title, ‘Barack Obama NBA Moments.’ This video showcases a collection of images from various instances when NBA champions were honored at the White House during Obama’s tenure. In one specific segment of this video, Mr. Obama proudly refers to the Cavaliers as the world champions, as he states, “Give it up for the World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers.? He further added, “That’s right, I said World Champion and Cleveland in the same sentence.”?

Barack Obama is a passionate sports enthusiast, with a particular affinity for basketball. He has been seen attending NBA games on numerous occasions and was even spotted trying his hand at basketball once. While Obama has nothing to do with the ongoing NBA and Noah Lyles controversy, his words have certainly added a new dimension to the debate.

In the wake of Noah Lyles’ comments, Team USA also encountered significant challenges in the FIBA World Cup. They suffered three losses in the competition.

Team USA’s forgettable World Cup

On Sunday, Team USA suffered a shocking defeat against Lithuania, with a final score of 104-111, leading to some online mockery. Following this disappointment, they faced the 11th-ranked team in the world, Germany, twice on Thursday and Friday. Unfortunately, they experienced another defeat, with a score of 111-113, effectively ending their chances of reaching the finals. On Saturday, they competed against Canada for the third-place spot, but once again, they fell short, losing the game with a substantial score of 118-127.
