World Mountain and Trail Running Championships recently began at Innsbruck, Austria. The first event of the 2023 festivities kick-started with the World Mountain Running Championships Uphill race. The 7.1 km race saw the world’s highly skilled athletes coming together to compete at the off-road event. Moreover, the internet felt the hard work put in by these athletes when a video from the event recently went viral.

Yesterday, the Instagram page, Personal Best, shared an eye-popping video of athletes mind-blowingly pushing against the steep mountains of the Stubai Valley. It captured the emotions of the athletes upon completing the uphill race, which invited several reactions from netizens.

The Instagram video captured the victorious reactions of the two winners who won at the male and female divisions. Kenyan long-distance runner Patrick Kipngeno, dominated the Men’s Uphill event for the second time in a row within a time frame of 40:18. On the other hand, the female uphill event was triumphed by the 43-year-old long-distance runner Andrea Mayr. She bagged her first individual gold at the event within 48:14. Interestingly, it was her seventh world championship victory.

Moreover, the video captioned, “Running uphill only for over 7km = a finish line feeling like no other” featured Kipngeno and Mayr celebrating their wins with open arms on reaching the finishing lines. As they vertically ran at an elevated level of 1020m, the stretching muscles in their thighs and legs became visible through their skin.
