Back in February 2023, Texas Tech University hosted the 2023 Big 12 Indoor Championships at their Sport Performance Center. The women’s division was swept up by Oklahoma State while the men’s division was won by Texas Tech. Recording a total of 159 points, the Red Raiders men’s team dominated the competition and led the table by 48 points of runners-up Oklahoma State. Now eight months later, Texas Tech has finally received its shiny new rings and an X post by Rori Dunk showcases the athletes flaunting their new silverware.

Texas Tech’s dominance was mainly due to the performances put in by junior Chris Dean, who ended up setting a meet record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.52 seconds. However, Dean wasn’t the only one, as Terrance Jones also set a new meet record in the 60m dash, with a time of 6.48 seconds. Joining them was Chris Welch, who won the triple jump event with a 16.19m jump while Courtney Lindsey secured the top spot in the 200m discipline with a run of 20.13 seconds.
