Track Spice shared a headline on their Twitter handle that says, “Devon Allen has been signed to the active roster for the Philadelphia Eagles!” He was signed by the Eagles for an active roster spot for the upcoming season. The news comes after Allen inked a two-year, $1,665,000 deal with the Philadelphia based team in February of last year.

However, earlier this month, there were reports that he was released from the team’s 53-man roster. But due to his potential, the Eagles management decided to keep him in the practice squad and was on standby for a potential promotion to the active roster.

Fans are super thrilled with the news, as the former Oregon wide receiver has been waiting for the pick for a while now. 28-year-old Allen started his career as a college football athlete at the University of Oregon and later shifted to track and field disciplines as well. He became a well-established runner in the 110-meter hurdles and went on to win some major titles as well. His story of going from being a receiver to choosing track as a career choice is nothing short of a thrilling roller coaster ride.
