Armand Duplantis, aka Mondo Duplantis, is a roaring name in the world of track and field. The 24-year-old is widely recognized as one of the greatest pole vaulters in the sport’s history. Renaud Lavillenie is France’s former world record-holder, who held the record between 2014 and 2020.

All about the sixth world record

Before the All-Star Perche, Mondo Duplantis had attempted to break the 6.22-meter mark twice before, in the season opener in Uppsala and later in Berlin. Mondo Duplantis entered the competition at 5.71 meters and cleared it on his first attempt. He then passed at 5.81 meters and managed to clear 5.91 meters on his second try. At this point, he had already won the competition.

With the competition secured, Mondo then set his sights on the 6.22-meter mark. He attempted it twice before finally succeeding on his third attempt, soaring over the bar with grace and precision.
